I am so sorry for all those reports I have read of YT'rs who were so adversely affected by the storm. We have been truly blessed, but not unscathed.
We evacuated to a fellow (inactive) YT'rs house in Ft. Worth. Before we left little Lyric (one of the puppies) had started to get sick with throwing up. We got to Ft. Worth Friday night and by Saturday night he had passed away...

. We had taken him to the vet very early (before 7 am) Saturday morning, but they couldn't find what was wrong with him. They gave him some medicine, but it didn't seem to help. They did a necropsy after he passed away and still everything looked fine, no liver problems, no physical abnormalities. No clue what the illness was.
I tried to get on here a couple of times while we were gone to ask for your prayers. I typed out all that had happened while Lyric was still sick. I asked for prayers, etc. But every time I pushed submit it logged me out!! After a couple of times I gave up.
Early Sunday morning the rest of the puppies started to get sick with throwing up and diarrhea. We took the sickest one back to the vets as soon as they opened. She was put on medications and by that night she was still sick so we took her back and she spent that night at the vets. By Tuesday all the puppies were sick with vomiting and diarrhea, but we really had to go home. We stopped by the vets for more meds and somehow made it home.
The next morning (Wednesday) I took them to my vet here. They did all the tests they could think of. All came back negative. No parvo, no parasites, etc. He gave us more meds and told me to give them around the clock, force feeding and hydrating every hour or two since they were too little to use the IV machines they had (they didn't have a slow enough rate). So there was no sleep here for the next few of days. By the time I finished one round with all of them it was nearly time to start the next round. I am happy to say they are now all looking good and acting well.
However, there is one terrible thing that has come of this that I would really appreciate your prayers about. The wonderful, kind lady and her husband who put up with us and our 11 dogs need your prayers.
Their 8 month old Bernese Mountain dog puppy seems to have gotten the same sickness. The day we left he started with throwing up and diarrhea. They have had him to several vets, IVs, meds, and several thousand dollars later he is still sick.
His name is Bronson. Please keep him in your prayers that he will make a quick and complete recovery. I could never forgive myself if he doesn't make it. I feel so badly that we may have brought this to these kind people after all they have done for us! Their adult Yorkie did not get sick and neither did any of our adult yorkies. It seems to have only affected the puppies.
Thanks in advance for your prayers! Sorry if this seems disjointed and confusing. We are still reeling here.
