Sometimes, on my way to work, I see a man walking a Yorkie with a long tail. I did a double-take the first time, but thereafter, the only thing I notice is a happy little dog trotting alongside his master with his tail held high, fur blowing in the breeze.

Both of my dogs are docked; however, because I have no aspirations for the show ring, if they had come to me with tail intact, I would have been just as happy with them. A tail is a happy little flag, a true indicator of how they're feeling.

At your pup's current age, it CAN be done, but the question is, SHOULD it be done? What purpose would it achieve? And it would hurt ... a *lot*.
