Thanks everyone for responding. Its great to read these responses. As to when to start the bell, you could train a dog at any age, its never too late.
As to the small bladder thing, that could not be the case in this particular because she held it all night and all day when I am at work (7hours) since about 12 weeks. I did the pee pad thing for awhile until she could hold it longer, around 16 weeks and then outside all summer which worked nice. I gave her a treat every time she peed or pooped outside too.
Although yorkies are very, very intelligent, I am noticing that she is still developing her intelligence at 6 months. When she was 3 months, she would not necessarily see a rabbit in the yard yet, for example. Whereas now she sees them before I do and chases! I think the bell thing took her a while to get because she just did not make the connection. |
