The vet I used to work with would prolong spaying/neutering really tiny babies, and it seemed to work out better. When I worked at the one vet, we had a yorkie that was about 4lbs, and she gained a bit more weight after her first cycle, and then the vet did her spay at about 1 year old, and she did great. The breeder where I got Fiona from wants me to breed her, but I just talked to her last night, and told her that I will be having her fixed. I'm sorta nervous to get this done, because I have been having issues with her growling and freaking out at the vet, and I'm worried that they won't be able to stick her with the needle to get her bloodwork done prior to her spay- but i'm sure she will be fine. I would just tell you to wait to see if she gets a little bit older and bigger.
