Give canned/sliced or fresh mashed potatoes with just a bit of butter - carbs will settle the tummy, are quickly absorbed, give instant energy, and are usually appetizing.

I always, always keep canned/sliced pototoes on hand for emergencies. You can also use white rice, but I've found my dogs just aren't big fans.

You really need to check your dogs gums and ensure that they're pink - if they're not, he is dehydrated and you probably need to get to the vet ASAP. Puppies can go down FAST with diarrhea, so please be careful. He may have eaten something on his walk - but he also may have a parasite and could need medication.
