Does she drink water yet? And how does her cleft look now? Has it closed any, or has it widened?
You have done a wonderful job, whatever you have done, I was just wondering. | No food per Doctor's instructions... nothing by mouth at all.... she gets water and her formula through the feeding tube, but that's it.
Her surgeon says we can start talking about a very thin pureed wet puppy food via a larger tube soon.... she has her 1st vaccination on Sunday so I think she's planning on starting her on the larger tube w/ "food" shortly thereafter.
The first surgery did in fact, keep the soft palate in tact.... so that is doing very well..... the hard palate "looks" larger, but is really just widening with the normal growth of her mouth.
Here are pictures of the cleft today.... |
