I read it's the cod liver oil which is bad since it has alot of oil soluble vitamins like A & D which is already toxic and they don't get excreted through urine. I was really about to try that recipe when I first got Reeses, my first yorkie... he had sparse coat but I got worried that kids at home might also eat the peanut butter balls stored in the fridge.
Seameal is nice for the coat. Some breeders even feed their dogs the seaweed sushi wrap, called "Nori"... The reason why seameal can't be an ingredient of dog food is that, high temperature destroys the potency of the nutrients in seameal so it has to be mixed every meal time. For yorkies, it's 1/8tsp per meal... you can also add a few drops of water to create a paste so it will cling with the kibbles...
