Oh I do agree that it shouldn't be a partisan issue, but unfortunately anything that comes to the table to be passed, is. I am coming accross some interesting things, and with further reading, and of course without Oprahs mention, there is another bill, 3344, that "includes the key provisions of S. 1738 as well as the SAFE Act. Viewers should then ask Congress to make tough choices and fund these vital programs with real money by spending less on special interest earmarks and other forms of wasteful Washington spending. " and eliminates the other irrelevant parts of S. 1738. Of course Oprah didn't mention this on her show, that it even existed because it wasn't written or endorsed by her candidate of choice. From what I read so far, this 3344 seems to be a wiser choice. But I haven't picked all the way through it.
