They are bonded as a pack and will miss each other during separation. They'll be okay, it's normal. Heat cycle lasts an average of 21 days from start of color show to finish. Count 21 dyas after she started showing color and you should be safe. Keep an eye on them though, I had a breeding happen at 20 days. It was too late for a pregnancy but he tried anyway. It was upsetting and cost me in vet bills for the ultrasound etc. so it's better to be safe than sorry. I applaud you for being responsible and protecting your little gal.
