Gosh, how I wish that I could make a couple of grand on the few pups I have sold. When you have to pay for C-Sections and only have one puppy, there is no way on earth you can recoup the money it cost. I hope that you don't have any problems when you do have a female that has puppies.

On shelters fees, I have never seen a shelter charge those amounts, Rescue's probably, but never a shelter. Rescues depend on the fees to continue to treat the ones that have been so abused and have severe health problems.

I hope that all does go well for your little one, and that your puppy can be the dog that you think she is. I had a girl that seemed to be very healthy too, but before she was 18 months, we discovered that she had a liver-shunt. Just because your dogs appear healthy to you, does not mean that they may not have some underlying problem. Please, before you do breed intentionally, have both dogs get a good health check, for your peace of mind too.
