I've never travelled that far (12 hours and he isn't fond of the car) with a dog, and was wondering if anyone had any input. How often to stop and let him stretch his legs? Should I get something from the vet to sedate him? When we go out to dinner, leave him in his kennel in the hotel room?? I would miss him terribly, but would he be happier at home with my sister in law checkin in on him daily? Any help is greatly appreciated.

i think its a great idea to take smoky with you on vacation it would be so much fun i think he would be happier with you and you would be happier with him being with you...i hope you find all the help you need
