We have litter trained ours that way if no one is paying attention and they need to go out they can just use the litter box. Plus it allows us to give them more freedom. My husband hated it at first he said i was training a dog to go the bathroom in the house, now he loves it becuase he knows there are times the floor would be a mess if we did not have it.
