Unless we can prove a crime has been committed the police will only take an incident report. Which is why each person
should and must file an incident report and retain the file number for it. Small claims is always an avenue to recover what $$ you have lost but does not prosecute criminal cases which is why this needs to be brought to the attention of the DA in counties in which this fraud was perpetrated.
