Later that evening I was holding Ella on the couch and my husband kept rewarding Lucy with treats every time she got closer to Ella. She is very curious, so I hope that is a good sign. Every few minutes, I saw Lucy's ears peeking around the corner to get a look at Ella. It was so cute. Lucy is mostly hiding out in our bedroom and comes out everyone in a while to be nosey. I put Ella in her crate so I could take Lucy outside and then I held Lucy in my lap while sitting next to the crate. She was shaking like a leaf! I don't know what else to do. It hasn't even been 24 hours so I am hoping that maybe after a few days she will at least tolerate Ella being in the same room.
Any advice?? |
Back in July, my Lucy didn't talk to/look at/or like us for about 3 days when Pebbles came home. I just tried to pet them both and let them get used to each other. And, as someone mentioned, I had separate food & water bowls for each. Lucy finally turned back to more normal after about a week or so. They aren't 100% bonded, but they are working on it.
Now I have to work on Lucy giving Pebs kisses & Pebs biting at Lucy's tongue. It's pretty funny
