You've goto be joking, right?!! You can't compare people and the making of families to the breeding of dogs! We are breeding for health, comformation to a breed standard and for temperment. All of these things are important to the wellbeing of the dog and the happiness to the future owners. You shouldn't let breeding just happen willy nilly. As a human you have the right to decide whether you want to brave the risks of carrying and giving birth to a child. Dogs can't make that kind of informed decision, they are driven by instinct. It is our responsibility to do what is best for them and for the future of the breed.
My dogs are not in prison camps. They run outside (they are doing it now), they go in the sun ( it increases pigment and well being), and they walk on grass even at shows. It's apparent that you've never been around any of the show breeders that I know.
