I went to a very small town in Switzerland with my brother near Ascona. I met 3 of my grandfather's relatives and went to the church, the cemetary, every place by walking. It was absolutely the most wholesome, loving, "real" place that I have ever experienced. These 3 elderly sisters were so lovely....all they wanted to do was feed me and my brother and give us homemade grappa.
It was absolutely charming, they even had the cow with the huge bell around it's neck....everything they had was made by hand. We stayed in a house that my great great great grandfather was born in or something crazy like that.
I loved it and will never forget it.
