Welcome to YT. I have a high energy dog as well. She is a 16 month old female. Everyone keeps telling me she will calm down...I'm waiting.
Keep an eye on the ear infection. If it doesn't improve I would see a vet. I'm over cautious sometimes. I'd rather make a trip for no reason than live to regret it later.
