Hi everyone!

I have a 17wk old female yorkie that currently weighs 23.8 ounces. I have had her for 3 weeks. She was 18.8 ounces when I got her at 14 weeks, so you can see that she has grown a lot in a short period of time.

At 14 weeks, she was a perfect little square in height and length. I don't know the measurements, but she looked very balanced. She has a very solid body, not underweight at all.

Now, at 17 weeks, she appears to be much longer than she is tall. It seems that all 5 ounces that she gained was in length. She looks like a little weiner dog?

So, my question is, do puppies sometimes grow length or height first and then balance out as they keep growing?
