I may sound crazy but I have always let me daughter watch a lot of shows/movies that others wouldn't allow....and I have found that by doing this...she as grown to NOT like certain movies (where as her friends that aren't allowed to watch, they are sneaking or always asking to watch them). AND she has gotten to were she will say "how can they live with themselves for doing that" or "why would someone do that anyway"...so it is a learning lesson for her...we are very open here...so I do not shy away from her questions...I would rather her know things and their consequences then go blindly into the world (and our world is crazy nowadays)!

Back to the show topic...I don't think it would be something that would interest her anyway...but I may have to check into it and see what it is about...doesn't sound very good though.....course...there isn't many "good" shows on tv anymore!
I agree with your method of teaching. I know this can get controversial but it is like drinking. I am definitely not one to encourage children to drinking but just using this as an example. The US has such a huuuge problem with underage drinking and kids getting into tons of trouble because of it. This is not a problem at all in places in Europe and Asia.. why? Because parents are open to it.. they don't ban it.. the more you don't let a child do something, the more they will want to try it and do it to try and "break the law". Like in family gatherings adults will let children have a sip or two and that will be that.. they've tried it, it's no "big secret" to the taste and effects and so kids do not go around their parents' backs trying to get some because.. it is accessible therefore since it is not considered a "bad thing" to do. I think if you restrict something from a child for so long, when they finally go off into the "real world" they of course want to try it and they go all out.. anyway JMO and of course this theory doesn't work with ALL issues

I guess I am saying I can see how your method of teaching is working for your daughter and I am glad she is making the right choices for herself
