I use Canidae all life stages kibble for the masses and free-feed them. Plus !of course! their treats.
But, just in case anyone is having a similar problem...
I have a 15 yr old Sheltie that stopped eating and started to lose weight. (Lots of dental work in his life!) I tried everything to get him to eat - even that Ceasars crap - to no avail. I was cooking for him and freezing it in small batches which did the trick, but since I rarely cook and I'm sometimes traveling, I got caught short a couple of times.
Recently they started carrying a brand at my grocery store called Fresh Pet Select. It is in a refrigerated case by the regular dog food and seems to be pretty balanced. So far he's been liking it
and it's soft so he's able to chew it. Even the treats!
It's been a lifesaver. I've been keeping back up in the fridge in the basement, but it's good to know that I can just run to the store if I'm in a pinch.
