It is certainly normal about the fasting the night before a c-section. I believe that is normal with any surgery, on animals or humans alike. I've got a young one having retained puppy teeth pulled next week, and also with the spays & neutering that have been done, the dogs always have to fast the night before.....nothing to eat after dinner. So I assume fasting is needed prior to most surgical procedures.

When is your female due to whelp? Do you know how many pups she is going to have?
