I hope I didnt ask too many questions, these are just some things I have been wondering about.
I have the vet x-ray and examine the bitch before I plan on a c-section. I do this about 5 days before due date. The vet should be able to measure the skulls at that time to see if there will be problems during delivery. This does not guarantee that there will be no problems, but the vet will be aware that she is due in the next few days. You might go ahead and schedule a c-section just in case, that way his appointment book is not already filled up and you have to resort to an emergency clinic. My vet lets me watch the c-section and take the puppies immediately as he removes them. While I a cleaning the bay and stimulating it, he is getting the next one out. They go directly into an incubator until mom is up and ready to go home. Everybody goes home and I keep an eye on them to make sure mom is taking care of the litter and everbody is nursing.

In 28 years, I have had about 7 c-sections that were planned and 1 emergency c-section.

Best of luck!! The key is to be prepared and have one or two vets that know what is going on in order to prevent that emergency.
