Are you balancing their calcium-phos. ratio - bc if not, this could be extremely detrimental to their health - and probably a good reason why you're seeing mushy poos too.
I think mushy poos are caused by several reasons, and not just canned food per se. You really have to look at the whole diet, ingredient senstivities and the individual dog.
