My wife recently became pregnant, and we now have an issue with our overly aggressive yorkshire terrier (almost 7 yrs old)... he is the sweetest to me and my wife, but will literally attack anyone who comes in the house...he will lunge after people and try to bite them outside as well.

My wife's concern now is that the baby will be endangered by our very aggressive dog. She wants to get rid of the dog....i do not want this as an option.

The only thing i can think about to protect our new child is to de-fang the dog and take out some of his teeth that can cause injury. What other options are there ? Is there medication to correct this type of behavior ?

Has anyone out there gotten rid of their dog's teeth for this same reason ?
