I have tried a lot for Dezi because she hates to see me coming towards her for anything like this. Nothing made her more tolerant but cotton really worked well. Now I just sit them each on the vanity in the bathroom and use a warm washcloth with shampoo, they smell so wonderful afterwards.
I wanted convenience so I could keep something next to me on my end table but then Dezi just won't to sit with me because she is paranoid.
I heard Paul Mitchell makes doggie wipes.
But the smell on Dezi's face is horrible, I never thought to ask anyone else about it.
Did anyone ever hear that they sweat from the bridge of their nose? A groomer told another Yorkie friend to keep her nose trimmed well because she was vacationing on a boat for a week so as not to have her overheat. I notice that when both of mine are playing hard or very active they are soaked on their face. Maybe that's what the smell is....
