I've had issues with Izzy's barking at other dogs and sometimes I can control it. But today was the worst!!!
A lady in the neighborhood walked by with a cute little Chihuahua mix puppy and when Izzy saw them he went bananas!!! I clapped my hands like I normally do, said quiet then moved him away from the door. Then the lady came up closer and wanted to talk to me. (She just got the puppy and saw I had a small dog so she wanted some advice) So I thought okay, Ill go and talk to her and have Izzy meet her dog too. When I went outside, Izzy started going crazy barking out of control!!! He was so loud it sounded like a scream, like I was hurting him. Im sure the entire neighborhood heard him! I tried calming him down again, tried to make him sit and calm down but nothing worked. I ended up having to take him back in the house and put him in his crate while I talked to the lady. With his loud screeching bark, he scared the poor little puppy. I felt so bad!!! I dont know what to do. It drives me nuts. I'm so frustrated!!! I love him dearly but when he is like this I cant stand him!! He gets so worked up over seeing another dog sometimes it scares them! I feel like I am not doing something right. I walk him everyday, as a matter of fact we just came in from walking when this happened. What do I do? Please help!!
