I have a question about what to do when the pups need to go ... I have a connecting flight, but most likely won't have time to get him outside and to get us both back through security. I was planning on taking puppy pads with me, and just putting one down in the bathroom so that he doesn't have to hold it for too long. We'll be traveling for about 9 hours, door to door. Any suggestions? |
Work with him a lot to get him to "go" on the pee pad on command. That way you can take him into the rest room, take out a pee pad, and he can do his business there. Make sure you keep a leash on him at all times. And keep the toilet seat down -- we don't want any bizarre accidents.)
I knew of a famous author who used to travel with two tiny Yorkies. After she got through security, she'd put her computer and handbag in the dog carrier, and she'd put her dogs in a dog carrier that looked like a handbag and hold it on her lap throughout the flight. When the dogs got into the occasional tiff or yipped, she'd lean toward the bag under the seat containing her computer and handbag and say "Hush!" Of course, her dogs were very little, and she was flying first class, which I'm sure makes everything easier.
