I had taken my Yorkie to training classes back in January of this year. I had problems of when I came home and him acting up (similar to how yours acts up) to get him out of the gated area. My teacher told me (and I am sure it will work for you) to tell him to calm down. If he won't walk away till he does. Then come back again and try once again to get him on the leash. Eventually, he/she will change. Maxwell changed and no more issues. I would suggest to get him some obedience training to help you. It did me
