Rory does this too! Must be a yorkie thing...she doesn't discriminate as sometimes it will be a single piece of kibble and other times an entire bone.
I admit I think it is so funny, and I'm sure my laughing only encourages it. Guilty as charged. I always thought it was because she didn't have a playmate - she has done it since she was very young.
