Here is a great website someone gave me the other day toread about the smaller yorkies. It has all kinds of info especially about the liver shnt and hypoglycemia and all the other serious problems they can have. it's:
www.mylittlemia.com then click on yorkie care. A wealth of information is there. It says the vessel goes around the liver instead of thru it thus causing the shunt. In older dogs, they can have multiple small shunts caused from diseases such as cirrohosis. (sp)
