Hi Babz . I feed Natures Variety Raw Medallions - but when I did feed kibble - I was last feeding Orijen and just think it's wonderful. I've actually corresponded w/ the company's nutritionist and he's pretty incredible. Orijen's white paper on canine nutrition is also wonderful - I just think, personally, they really "get it" in terms of canine nutrition.

High protein should be great unless there is a liver/pancreas/kidney disease. Some people have reported added thirst on higher protein kibble diets - I personally never noticed this. If you do notice this, you can either sprinkle water on the kibble, or add in some canned (which is good for them anyway). But honestly, dogs should consume the amount of water their bodies require for their needs. I personally believe that higher protein is more species appropriate, as is grain-free. Canines are carnivores, after all.
