I was walking into my building, and a coworker told me that there was something on the news about the first plane, and they were thinking there might be an air traffic control problem. Then the rest of the horror began unfolding, and all hell broke loose where I work because many of my coworkers are from or have family in New York. One of my bosses was particularly wigged out because she hadn't been able to reach some of her family members once the cell phone networks got all jammed. We spent the day doing very little work and mostly watching the coverage on a couple of TVs in the building. The worst image I remember was seeing the people of Iran dancing in the streets and celebrating and thanking Allah. Disgusting. |
