My mother doesn't care for dogs, either. When I got Lucy after my husband died - she freaked out. "She'll poop in the house, tear everything up, it'll stink....etc"
I heard it all. Well, let me tell you - within a week, Mama was in LOVE with Lucy! She comes over now to visit Lucy and Rebel and always ends up playing with them in her lap.
If one of them has an accident - she's the first to make excuses for them and I think it would absolutely kill her if anything happened to one of my babies. She brought treats when they were spayed/neutered and can't wait to see them in new clothes.
Your Mother will not be able to resist the yorkie personality!!
