I think he feels it's his safe place. He runs in there evertime he gets into trouble.
Time out is anyplace like any one of his beds in the house, but mostly his crate. He knows that he's in trouble and will run there anyway. I just make him stay there by saying time out! He will try and get up sometimes and all I have to do is point my finger to the bed or crate and say no time out Gus. And back he goes. I never wanted to make the crate seem like a bad thing and only use it for time outs and I dont think he sees it as a bad thing. I just think he feels safe in there. He doesnt just use his crate for time outs. He uses it to eat and play and to hide things. I don't just leave him in there alone. I will put him in a time out in the same room I am in. I would never leave him alone when mad at him. But he does know that I am mad and will stay there till it's ok to come out.
