I'm such a wimp, or I was. My friend in Germany invited me over to visit many times when I was much younger (and single) but I never went because "I didn't want to travel by myself"... I was so chicken. If I could go back in time, I'd slap myself!
Who knows, maybe someday opportunity will come up when you can go back to Bavaria if thats what is meant to be. I know my husband wanted to move back to WA state (family reasons), and opportunity presented itself and here we are!
