I would say with in 2 weeks she was going to the box 95% of the time by her self. I was surprised how fast she picked it up. You just have to stay with it the same as you do when you are training them to go out side.
If yours is already trained to go out maybe when she goes to the door you could just take her to the box. Good luck. |
That's how I potty-pad trained Scooter too (except without the box) and it worked wonders. I wonder if you just put a pad right next to the door that they usually go out to potty and put them on the pad instead of all the way outside. Or see if they enjoy the snow? If they love going outside there's no need to train for a potty pad as well! Just keep a coat by the door for the really cold days! Scooter hasn't had a winter yet, but I'm looking forward to see if he enjoys the snow! At the moment he won't even stay in a coat for more than 5 mins! He'll have to get used to that quick!
