I'm in the process of finding a new vet also... I've just been asking friends with small breed dogs who they recommend. Then I ask the vet some questions to make sure they will treat us better than our last one.
Also, I think rubbing their but on the floor means they need their anal glands expressed, I don't think that is related to the ear.
