I don't know if I'd go that far. The leader is supposed to be something you want them to tolerate, not something you use as punishment or restraint.

If you solve the barking issue, though, let me know! Jack is a terrible yapper.

And CharBar, even my Lab still paws at it, and I've had him on it all summer. In fact, a friend has a service dog that she uses one on, and he even paws at it. But she ensures me it doesn't hurt them, and it serves a higher purpose (no pulling), so it's worth a little discomfort. I'll let you know how Eddie does. I'm going to try it on him this week.
