wow, I read the whole post and most of us have had the same experience!

I always wanted a dog, and husband said not until we had our own home. When we got our house, I started looking. He said he would have nothing to do with the dog, he would not walk it, feed it, play with it...it would all be my responsibility. Within a matter of days he was holding Baxter and crawling on the floor and barking/growling on all fours at him, so he would "zoom" around the house.

When I said i wanted one more he said ABSOLUTELY NOT...he would divorce me, etc, etc. I got Cooper anyway. He demanded I "take him back" Bad Momma lied and said she bought Cooper from some strange people in front of a wal-mart, and didn't have any contact info

He said he would only love and pay attention to Baxter. Cooper won him over, because he was so rambunctious. He was only sick one time, and that was after a round of vaccinations, he became lethargic..husband DEMANDED we take him to the ER vet, and held him while I drove, and slept with him on his chest all night. His reason being "if something happened to these**&*)))I$ dogs, you would fall apart, and I can't have it"

He went from that, to rescuing Darcy himself, and bringing her home. It touches my heart, when he comes home, he makes the 3 of them line up in the doorway, and they must sit perfectly still until he bends down and shakes each one of their paws. I laugh to myself he calls Baxter "my lil Buddy", Darcy "his pretty girl", and Cooper "lil bad***"

He now loves to take all the credit for their training, amd boss me around when it comes to them "pick up that bullystick, its too short", or "order some greenies, they are out"..I just know that is his way of being concerned and showing love!

Just have some patience--they will come around!
