Tatum is 5.5 lbs and I've never split a dose of Frontline. But a few months ago, I switched both dogs (other one is an Aust. Shep.) to Comfortis. Upon the vet's recommendation, I now give them each their Advantage pill (or is it Advantix? can't remember and don't have it in front of me - but it's the heartworm/flea pill) on the 1st of the month and then the Comfortis pill on the 15th. We have a serious flea problem in our area which is why he recommended it that way. So far we've seen much improvement! I highly recommend the Comfortis - even if that's the only one you use all month. You don't need to double up like we do if you don't have as serious of a flea problem.
