I always keep my momma and babies separated from the other dogs. Most likely the momma will growl and snap at the male to keep him away. Usually by they time the puppies are a week or so old the female will want to get away from the puppies more. I keep my mommas and babies in a spare bedroom and I let them out several times a day to visit and run around. She will let you know when she is ready but I would not let the male near the puppies until they are older. Most all of my males don't want anything to do with puppies, they will run from them. |
