If you look up each of them, I think Silkies have almond shaped eyes and yorkies have round. Also a silkie's hair will not grow as long as a yorkie. 1 year might not be old enough to tell hair length, especially if it has been cut. 9 pounds is not that big for a yorkie, many are much bigger.
