I agree if a dog is demanding attetnion to ignore but you best know if there is not a need to pee and or something else is wrong first.
Most of the world does not understand dog body language at all they place human views on it so a ton of info is missing and we tend to get it wrong..

Absolutely, you are correct, you must first rule out that the dog has to go outside, I was responding to this comment.

If a dog is barking to go outside in order to relieve himself, you do not have to wait a few minutes for him to stop. I really wish I understood some of Joey's body lauguage better. There are a few things he does like stick out his tongue, that I understand (that means he wants a treat), but there are probably lots other things that I'm missing.
