If she is chewing a lot there it may be more an allergy or even a bored habit. Your best bet is get her to a vet that you are comfortable with. Allergies/flea bites can mimic each other and the only true way to know is the vet. I had thought my first dog ( she is in heaven now ) just had bad skin. I found out that she had fleas that did not show up and did not bother us at all. You might want to consider your home having fleas also. Just because you don't get bit by them does not mean they are not there. There are some very good and safe carpet treatments that dehydrates the eggs which eliminate the breeding of fleas. We treated the carpets ( with her there ) and had no more problems.
