I had a Cocker spaniel go blind from glaucoma. One day we came home and one of her eyes was very swollen looking and bulging outward, and it seems like it was cloudy also. It's been many years ago so I don't remember all the details. I just remember it was caused from glaucoma, which is fairly common in Cockers. Despite oral medication and eye creams, she went blind in that eye, and eventually lost the sight in both eyes. Within a year she also went deaf. It was really tough on her to be both blind and deaf. Sometimes she would get lost in our yard, but she could still sniff out her balls, which she loved. She lived to be almost 15 years old despite being blind and deaf the last few years of her life.

I suggest you get medical help for your dog as soon as possible. There's a chance he could recover his eye sight. It's unusual that he would go blind in both eyes at such a young age, especially suddenly. I would definitely be trying to track down the cause of the blindness.

Best of luck to you. I sure hope your dog makes a full recovery but if not, he can still live a very happy life being blind.
