I am glad to hear you are all Ok there...
It's Florida here, and we've been through some rough weather too.
I didn't have my yorkie when Katrina came, but I had my boxer.
She is epileptic and also had part of her jaw removed due to a very agressive bone cancer. Amazingly, we all could sleep through Katrina ( we have hurricane resistant windows, but the noise was incredibly intense even though).
I had medications handy for any bigger stress , but never needed them, thank God.
However, Hurricane Wilma came about 3 weeks later, and my Bella had a seizure a few hours before the stronger winds hit our region. I could control her without Valium, but I was really scared, not for the winds, but for what could happen to her.
Well, a few hours later we were all very tired and the winds stopped, and that's all what happened.
Animals are very sensitive to weather changes, and we must pay attention to their clues when it comes to hurricanes.
I have Rescue drops with me at all times, that should help them relax without having to go to stronger meds.
Stay safe !
