We were worried about rising water too BUT we were a direct hit. If we were on the eastern side we would have flooded. Our area had flooding for Rita 3 wks after Katrina hit but not my house. Thanks GOD!!! We live so close to the gulf coast only 12 miles from air. Our area can't take the slow moving hurricanes as they push water up the Bayou's. We have Bayou's all around here. I live in between 2 main Bayou's here.
If Ike is a catagory 3 - I would suggest you go to LongView, TX.
We were in Uncertain near Marshall & Jefferson, TX & still had rain & a little wind days after it hit the coast. My dad's family lives in Jefferson, TX. So it was like a big Family Reunion.
