Have you ever had one of those days that you don't even know your own name?? I have been so tired and stressed out that today was that day for me. After I dropped Emme off at the vet this morning, I went back to bed for 4 hours...then I picked her up at 1 and after I got back home....back to bed I went again. What a day...
I'm sure you are all waiting for Emme's update and not the status of my lazy butt so here goes.....
EMME IS FINE!!!!
SHE HAS BEEN RELEASED AND NO MORE TRIPS TO THE VET!!!
They do not feel that she had parvo....they think she had a severe bacteria infection of the digestive tract that was causing her to be so sick. Her blood work came back as negative for parvo but the snap test showed positive which is why they said it was parvo. Her improvement was to fast for it to have been parvo and I have had dogs with it that had not recovered as quickly as she has. So the first vet was right (and a lot cheaper).
Last night she ate some baby food for me and held it down without any problems. When I went to bed, I put more baby food down in case she got hungry before I came back to check on her and she had already ate it. Still no vomiting or diarrhea. This morning she was bubbly, alert and looked great. I took her to the vet and told them that she ate for me and the amounts and they gave me that look like what??? She ate?

When I went to pick her up at 1, I seen a bag that had her name on it and the lady at the desk said they were discharging her but that was all they could tell me. I had to go to a room and wait for them to come in and give me all the details. Apparently my little piglet was hungry and was screaming when I left so they fed her at 8:20 and she ate everything that they gave her. The vet got her blood work results back and showed negative for parvo but one of her other numbers was up so he figured she had a bacteria infection and she was dehydrated. The treatments that they give for parvo would have been the same that they would have done for this so she did get the treatments that she needed to save her life. She was sent home and I still have to give her more medicine for the next 2 weeks but she is just fine. She weights 1 lb 11 ounces today and is as feisty as she was when I first got her (maybe a little slower).
Thank you everyone for all of the prayers and thoughts that you gave us during this time, you definitely helped save her!!!
