Before she "can" be bred, or when she "should" be bred? Those are two differnet things and two differnet answers. Technically, a female can become pregnant with her first heat. However, a female should never be bred on the first heat. Most agree that waiting to breed on the second heat is best. I would recommened waiting until the female is around a year and a half old to breed. It will allow time for her to mature emotionally and to develope the qualities that she will possess as an adult, fully mature Yorkie, making it possible to evaluate her and tell if she is of a quality that should be bred. |
