A two pound puppy doesn't need very much food, you don't want him to eat more than he needs. Dog and children learn that they can hold out a while for something better. If you were given a plate of green beans, and you knew, if you didn't eat it your mom would give you some ice cream and brownies, wouldn't you hold off? Your puppy has learned this. I would not feed the dog baby food, human baby food sometimes has ingrediants that isn't good for dogs, such as onions.
I think you should free feed your dog, in other words have a little food available at all times. Put 1/4 cup of dry food is his bowl in the morning, and when that gets low, add another 1/4 cup of food. A tablespoon is a lot of food for them, it may not look like he's not eating much, but really is. Ten pieces is pretty good, and probably all his tummy can handle at one time. |
